The name Issa Ssekatawa rings a bell to football enthusiasts in Uganda. He was a demi god at the time he played football especially in the 1980s.
His talents earned him the nickname “Golden boy” thanks to his ability to score at will. Ssekatawa has been bed-ridden for close to a month after sustaining an injury as he was training at Nakivubo stadium.
Kampala Capital City Authority Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) players and coaching staff on Tuesday morning paid a courtesy visit to Ssekatawa at his home in Najjanakumbi, a suburb in the outskirts of Kampala City.
The courtesy visit was after a public call to come to the rescue of the former KCCA FC player who broke his leg as he trained with other ex-internationals at Nakivubo Stadium.

Ssekatawa told www.kccafc.co.ug before calling upon football ethusiasists to come and help him out.

Despite going to the hospital for the initial surgery, the recovery process has not been successful with the leg starting to rot.
There is fear he could be amputated if he does not getting the money in time to go and have another operation.
With the campaign to raise about UGX 6 million on, KCCA FC has contributed UGX 500,000 towards the cause.
Ssekatawa, upon receiving the package, broke down into tears thanking KCCA FC for becoming the first team to come to his rescue.
Ssekatawa is the first and last player to win the golden boot of the top tier football league in Uganda for three consecutive years, he led the top scorers chats in 1981 with 18 goals while at Nytil. he crossed to Express and top scored with 22 and 21 goals respectively.
