Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) finally ended the long standing jinx of not winning a double as they defeated Paidha Black Angels in the 2017 Uganda Cup final.
A goal apiece from the prolific duo of Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Derrick Nsibambi ensured KCCA FC earned a 2-0 win against Paidha Black Angels in the final played at Betway Greenlight stadium in Arua on Thursday.
The game was graced by club patron Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago and KCCA Executive Director, Dr. Jennifer S Musisi to cheer the boys.
KCCA played like a team determined to win right from onset and by the 10th minute mark, Geoffrey Serunkuuma had broken the deadlock.
The clinical finisher captilised on a mix up in the Paidha Black Angels defence to pick a ball inside the area before slotting it in the bottom left corner of the net.
Paidha had moments to level matters but thanks to KCCA FC custodian, Benjamin Ochan who was brilliant on the day.
Twelve minutes after the break, KCCA FC doubled their lead this time Derrick Nsibambi raising to the occasion.
