On Thursday August 10th, 2017 the reigning Azam Uganda Premier League champions and the FUFA Uganda Cup holders will host Tanzanian outfit Azam FC at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.

After a series of trial and practice matches, this will be the first real test for Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club ahead of the 2017/2018 season.

Manager Mike Mutebi will be looking at checking the new players he hope to have on their roster going into next season especially with six players away on national duty and others injured.

It will be a good test for some of the players we have already recruited and those we are still monitoring.

The manager told after the Wednesday afternoon training session, he also added.

We have so many young players, innocent, hungry and they know how to play football, this game will help us check them more and see if they will meet the demands of the team.

The manager won’t have shot stopper Benjamin Ochan, defenders Isaac Muleme and Paul Musamali, midfielders Muzamir Mutyaba and Paul Mucureezi together with striker Derrick Nsibambi.

The six are with the Cranes preparing to face Rwanda in the 2018 African Championship of Nations (CHAN) first leg qualifier on Saturday at St Mary’s Stadium Lugogo.
