The Bright Stars vs KCCA FC league match at Mwererwe this Tuesday afternoon will have a lot of aspects to offer.
First, the match will act as a precursor to the ‘Kampala derby’ between KCCA and Villa on November 1 at Lugogo.
Secondly, the club managers want to prove that the away troubles that had befallen the team are no more.
Thirdly but most important, it will give KCCA FC a chance to go six points clear at the top of the table because second placed Vipers, three points adrift, are not in action until Friday.
“We have addressed the away problems we have encountered this season and we are confident of finding life easy at Matugga,” deputy manager Morley Byekwaso predicts.
“Bright Stars play a confident, suffocating and solid game but we shall break them down like we did against Police FCin our last match.”
Bright Stars, under Fred Kajoba, have lost once in 9 league matches and have made it a habit to rise up against the big teams – just like they drew with Vipers and Express Fc recently.
Although the KCCA FC will be still without defenders Lawrence Kasadha and Timothy Awany plus custodian Douglas Kisembo, it will be buoyed by the recent performances at Mwererwe stadium – two wins and one draw in the last three visits.
Yet again, Paul Mucureezi scored a sole winner as we ejected Bright Stars in the Uganda Cup last season at Mwererwe.
Managers Mike Mutebi and Bwekwaso may call on the services of Ivan Ntege and Brian Majwega to boast the midfield but it is the striking line proficiency that will be under the spotlight.
“We create countless chances but we don’t finish them. We need to be more clinical if we are to do well in the league,” Mutebi declared.
On form strikers Geoffrey Sserunkuuma with 6 league goals, Robert Ssentongo with 3 and Derrick Nsibambi on two are all available for selection.
