There is probably no feeling a footballer would want to have than being a match winner for his club or team.

And it is exactly what Derrick Nsibambi experienced as he scored a late winner for Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) to edge past a resilient Al Masry.

Nsibambi came off the bench to grab the lone goal as KCCA FC defeated Egypt’s Al Masry in the first leg of the 2017 Total CAF Confederation Cup playoff phase game played at Philip Omondi stadium on Saturday.

The sensational forward who was scoring his first of the campaign couldn’t hide his delight after the final whistle indicating it was great for both him and the club.

I’m really happy that I scored the decisive goal but most importantly that we got the result as team and that helps us to go into the return leg with confidence

Nsibambi told www.kccafc.co.ug.com before noting that they still had the belief that they would score despite the goal coming late into added time.

We had the belief that a goal would come anytime because we kept attacking them and thankfully the chance came and we put it away.

Nsibambi who came on for injured Muzamir Mutyaba in the 57th minute lashed onto a floated pass from goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan to slot past onrushing goalkeeper Ahmed Abdelhalim in the fourth minute of added time.

KCCA FC carry a 1-0 advantage ahead of the return leg in Ismailia, Egypt next week with the winner on aggregate advancing to the group stages.
