KCCA FC vs Kataka FC

MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo

Sunday May, 4th, 2025

7:00 pm

KCCA FC host FUFA Big League side Kataka FC in the semifinal of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

KCCA FC eliminated Ntungamo’s Kaaro Karungi FC in the quarterfinals while Kataka FC eliminated Police FC at the same round.

In the previous two encounters in the Uganda Cup against each other, KCCA FC were 5-2 and 3-0 winners against Kataka FC in 2017 and 2023, respectively. Both games were away from home.

Joint ten-time Uganda Cup record cup holders KCCA FC will be looking for their 11th cup this season, and a semifinal win against Kataka FC would bring them closer to cup number 11.

Derrick Nsibambi scored a brace against Kataka FC in the round of 16 game that ended 5-2 in favor of KCCA FC, played at Nabini playground in Bufumbo sub county, Mbale in 2017

The camp is great. We have prepared well, and the players are fully focused on this competition. We want to win the Uganda Cup, and that is the message across the group. We know it won’t be easy against Kataka, as they have already eliminated UPL sides URA and Police FC. We trust the squad we have that it can get us over the line, and we shall give the game everything on Sunday. Musitafa Mujuzi and Sadat Anaku are back in training. However, Ettiene Katenga and Derick Nsibambi are also not far from a return – Jackson Magera Kaddu
