In a penultimate home game, KCCA FC put up a five-star performance against a relegation-threatened team, Wakiso Giants FC.
KCCA FC’s first real moment of offensive promise came in the 18th minute when Peter Magambo’s shot was parried away by Wakiso’s goalkeeper and later cleared away by Ambrose Arinda.
Ashraf Mugume was fouled in the box, and the referee pointed to the penalty spot. The same player stepped up to convert from 12 yards and hand KCCA FC the lead in the 20th minute.
Umar Lutalo’s well-weighted cross found an unmarked Emmanuel Anyama in the box, but the forward’s header flew wayward in the 25th minute.
KCCA’s Haruna Lukwago and Fillbert Obenchan were cautioned for fouling, and so was Wakiso’s Ambrose Arinda.
1-0 at halftime.
Three minutes after recess, Joao Gabriel nodded home from 6 yards to double KCCA’s lead off Mugume’s pinpoint cross.
In the 51st minute, Saidi Mayanja replaced Joel Sserunjogi to add more firepower upfront for the cityzens
Two minutes after the hour mark, Yian Gatbel, Bright Anukani, and Sammy Ssebaduka replaced Usama Arafat, Ashraf Mugume, and Haruna Lukwago.
Wakiso’s Ambrose Arinda was then sent off for a second bookable offense in the 65th minute.
With a quarter of an hour to play, Umar Lutalo made it three goals for KCCA FC with a belter from the edge of Wakiso’s box.
Three minutes later, two substitutes combined to give KCCA FC another goal. Sammy Ssebaduka teed up Anukani, who guided the ball home to make it four goals for the cityzens.
A minute later, Bright Anukani laid a beautiful ball for youngster Yian Gatbel to finish it off and hand KCCA FC its fifth goal.
Isa Mubiru later replaced Joao Gabriel as Peter Magambo received a late caution for a foul.
5-0 the final score.
