KCCA FC 1-0 Buhimba United Saints FC
MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Tuesday, December 16, 2025 – 8pm EAT
KCCA FC secured a 1-0 victory over Buhimba United Saints FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, thanks to a sole goal from forward Rogers Mugisha.
The win marks the fifth consecutive victory for the Cityzens, cementing their position at the top of the Uganda Premier League table with 26 points from 11 matches as the league heads into the AFCON 2025 break.
The opening quarter saw KCCA FC apply early pressure. In the 15th minute, the hosts created a gilt-edged chance when Muhindo Lazaro delivered a precise cross into the box, finding Derrick Nsibambi, who controlled the ball and fired a shot, but it was saved by Buhimba’s goalkeeper, Jamil Kiyimba.
The breakthrough came in the 27th minute. A long-range effort from Achayi was parried by the Buhimba shot-stopper, only for the rebound to fall perfectly into the path of Rogers Mugisha, who calmly chested the ball down before slotting it past Kiyimba.
The goal was huge for the youngster, being his first for the club on his first Uganda Premier League start, giving KCCA a 1-0 lead, which they carried into the halftime break.
Buhimba United Saints came out with renewed intent in the second half with a series of attacks, which KCCA thwarted.

KCCA FC’s first attack of real promise in the second stanza fell to Sammy Ssebaduka, who beat his marker, Maxwell, but his shot from a distance sailed wide of the target in the 50th minute.
The game turned into a physical battle, resulting in the first booking of the match in the 62nd minute when KCCA’s Fillbert Obenchan was cautioned for a foul on Buhimba’s Edson Agondeze.
KCCA’s technical team responded with a double substitution three minutes later, bringing on Alex Yiga and Umar Lutalo to replace Sammy Ssebaduka and the cautioned Fillbert Obenchan.
Substitute Alex Yiga immediately made his presence felt, beating his defender and forcing an impressive save from Kiyimba, who tipped the powerful shot over the bar in the 82nd minute.

KCCA made their final changes, introducing Sharifu Ssengendo and Steven Oyirwoth for Saidi Mayanja and the goal scorer Rogers Mugisha.
In the closing stages, Buhimba United Saints received two yellow cards for late challenges, with Swadiq Moro and Arafat Galiwango being cautioned for fouls on Rogers Mugisha (before he was substituted) and Lazaro Muhindo, respectively.
Despite a spirited effort from Buhimba, KCCA FC held on for a 1-0 win, celebrating their fifth consecutive league win.
KCCA FC goes into the break on a high, sitting comfortably at the top of the UPL table. The league is set to resume on January 6th, with KCCA FC facing an away fixture against Police FC.
