KCCA FC vs NEC FC

MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Friday, December 12, 2025 – 8pm EAT

KCCA FC is set to host NEC FC in a highly anticipated Uganda Premier League clash on Friday, December 12th, at the MTN Omondi Stadium. This “Lugogo Derby” promises an intense battle as both teams look to make a statement.

KCCA FC comes into this game riding a wave of confidence following a crucial away win against BUL FC last Sunday. That win is part of a strong run the Cityzens are having, with co-coach Brian Ssenyondo emphasizing the team’s motivation.

We are motivated by the results we have got in the last matches but we want more. We are expected to win matches, and we are not going to get carried away by the three matches we have won on the spin. I believe we have the best squad available and we also thank the fans for supporting the team always. Just like they did against BUL, they should come and rally behind the boys against NEC.

KCCA FC is currently flying high, sitting at the top of the table with 20 points from 9 games, having won six of their nine matches. The support of the fans, as called for by the coach, will be crucial in maintaining their impressive form at home.

NEC FC, who share the MTN Omondi Stadium with KCCA for their home games, will be no pushovers. Their last result saw them hold Vipers SC to a commendable 1-1 draw right there at Lugogo, proving they can stand up to the league’s top sides.

Despite being in the top half of the table, currently in 9th position with 11 points from 9 games, NEC has a knack for causing upsets.

Despite KCCA FC being on form, derby matches rarely follow the form book. NEC’s draw against Vipers shows their potential. A closely contested affair is expected at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo derby this Friday.
