- Full Time: SC Villa 1-0 KCCA FC
- Competition: StarTimes Uganda Premier League (Match Day 22)
- Date: Saturday, 10th April 2026
- Time: 8:00 PM (EAT)
- Venue: FUFA Stadium, Kadiba
It was a tough afternoon at the FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, as KCCA FC’s impressive five-match winning run came to a disappointing halt.
Despite a dominant first-half performance and several clear-cut chances, the Kasasiro Boys couldn’t find the back of the net, eventually falling 1-0 to rivals SC Villa in a tightly contested Kampala derby.
The opening stages of the match belonged almost entirely to KCCA FC. Shafik Kwikiriza was a constant menace on the wing, showing his class in the 16th minute when he danced past his marker, Ssemayange Kato, only to see his powerful strike fly just wide of the target.

A few minutes later, Kwikiriza turned provider, whipping a dangerous ball into the box that caused chaos in the Villa defense. While Mangoli managed a frantic clearance, the rebound fell kindly to Joel Sserunjogi, whose follow-up effort unfortunately failed to test the keeper.
As the half progressed, the tension rose, leading to a yellow card for Gavin Kizito after a foul on Patrick Kakande.
However, the football remained fluid, and KCCA nearly broke the deadlock ten minutes before the break. Saidi Mayanja played a fantastic ball to Kwikiriza, who attempted a clever chip toward the goal, but Villa’s Lukwago produced a brilliant fingertip save to push it over the bar.
Just before the halftime whistle, Achayi attempted a long-range shot; the parried save landed in Ivan Ahimbisibwe’s hands, but his snapshot only found the side netting, leaving the teams level at the interval.

The second half began with an enforced change for the visitors, as Hassan Muhamud came on to replace the injured Enock Walusimbi.
The momentum shifted in the 58th minute when SC Villa took the lead through Hassan Mubiru, forcing KCCA to chase the game.
The Cityzens responded with urgency; Mayanja again turned creator to set up Brain Jjara, who fired his effort over the bar.
In an effort to find a spark, the technical bench introduced Kennedy Muserero for Kwikiriza, followed by Etienne Katenga for Ivan Ahimbsibwe, and eventually Ashraf Mugume and Alex Yiga for Saidi Mayanja and Joel Sserunjogi in the closing stages of the derby.
Despite the fresh legs and a late surge of pressure, the hosts’ defense held firm. It was a frustrating end to a spirited run of form, but the focus now shifts immediately to the next challenge.
KCCA FC will look to bounce back and start a new streak when they host Kitara FC in their next league outing at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, on Friday, 17th April 2026.
