FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
Sunday, December 7, 2025 – 3pm EAT
KCCA FC secured a dramatic victory on the road against BUL FC, coming back from a goal down in scorching conditions to win 2-1 thanks to a world-class stoppage-time strike from substitute Alex Yiga. The win sent KCCA FC back to the top of the Uganda Premier League table with 20 points.
The match kicked off under temperatures soaring to 31°C, demanding a cooling break called by referee Musisi in the 17th minute.
BUL FC started brightly. Hillary Onek was denied an early opener in the 12th minute when KCCA defender Filbert Obenchan cleared his effort off the goal line.

KCCA responded with quick interplay between Walusimbi and Saidi Mayanja, setting up Obenchan, whose shot flew over the bar.
BUL took the lead in the 37th minute from a corner kick that KCCA failed to clear, allowing George Kasonko to pounce on the loose ball and slot it into the net with his weaker foot.
KCCA’s Anyama Emmanuel missed a chance to level before the break, with his heavy touch sending the ball wide, leaving the hosts with a narrow 1-0 lead at halftime.
After the break, KCCA returned with renewed urgency. Skipper Herbert Achayi signaled the Cityzens’ intent in the 54th minute, heading a Joel Sserunjogi corner kick into the side net.
The leveller came three minutes later. Lazaro Muhindo made a powerful run down the right wing and crossed to Ashraf Mugume, whose initial header was parried by BUL goalkeeper Tom Ikara, only for Sammy Ssebaduka to tap home the rebound.

Both sides made key changes; in the 62nd minute (KCCA), Umar Lutalo and Derrick Nsibambi replaced Hassan Muhamud and Saidi Mayanja, and in the 65th minute (BUL), Ibrahim Mugulusi, Isaac Musima, and Martin Aprem replaced George Kasonko, Ibrahim Orit, and Denis Ssewagudde.
The referee called for a second cooling break in the 68th minute.
BUL made further substitutions, bringing on Seiri Arigumaho and Bakali Magunda for Karim Ndugwa and Walter Ochora, respectively.
KCCA’s final changes saw Steven Oyirwoth replace Emmanuel Anyama in the 83rd minute and, crucially, Alex Yiga replace Sammy Ssebaduka in the 88th minute.
The referee cautioned KCCA’s Herbert Achayi in the 70th min and BUL’s Martin Aprem in the 84th minute, both for fouls as intensity rose.
With the clock into stoppage time, the substitute Alex Yiga made the difference.
In the 91st minute, Yiga received a pass from skipper Herbert Achayi, took a touch, and unleashed a thunderous strike from about 40 yards out that flew straight past BUL’s goalkeeper Tom Ikara and into the back of the net. The goal of the Season contender earned Alex Yiga a Player of the Match accolade.
2-1 the final score. The visitors KCCA FC with yet another important win.
The result sees KCCA FC return to the top of the Uganda Premier League table with 20 points. The Cityzens will be back in action as they host NEC FC on Friday, December 12, 2025, at MTN Omondi Stadium.
