Seven promising teenagers from KCCA FC have earned a call-up to the national U17 men’s team, ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar. The global tournament is set to take place from November 3rd to 27th, 2025.
These young talents will be part of the squad commencing immediate preparations for the prestigious global event.

The national U17 team officially entered a residential camp on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the FUFA Hotel, Kisasi.
The team will have a rigorous schedule designed to fine-tune the squad before they head to the Middle East.

The Magnificent Seven.
The selected 7 KCCA FC players show the club’s commitment to youth development under the Soccer Academy head coach, Saka Mpiima.
- Steven Oyirwoth (Captain, KCCA FC Soccer Academy): The academy captain has already made a huge step, earning his senior team debut this season. He was also part of the Uganda squad at the AFCON U17 in Morocco in April 2025.
- Ashraf Lukyamuzi (Goalkeeper): The shot stopper has gained crucial experience by featuring on the senior team’s match day squad before. He was also part of the Uganda squad at the AFCON U17 in Morocco in April 2025.
- Brain Jjara (Midfielder): The small man with a big engine has established himself as a mainstay in the KCCA FC senior squad, with impressive development.
- Patrick Sserunjogi (Midfielder): This is his maiden national team call-up, marking a big milestone in his young career.
- Thomas Ogema (Midfielder): No stranger to the national setup, Ogema brings valuable experience, having been part of the previous AFCON U17 campaign in Morocco.
- Ismail Fahad (Forward): The promising display and development with the KCCA FC Soccer Academy in the FUFA Juniors League has earned him his maiden National Team call up.
- Enock Bagenda (Forward): The tireless runner with huge potential and raw talent, ready to make his mark on the international stage. He was part of the U17 Uganda men’s team that played in the U17 CECAFA-AFCON zonal qualifiers in December 2024 and qualified for AFCON U17

Before Qatar, the Uganda U17 side will hold an international friendly camp in Dubai, UAE. This will run from October 21st to October 31st, 2025.
The camp will provide the technical team with the perfect environment to assess the players and build team chemistry ahead of the World Cup kick-off.
