  • Fixture: Calvary FC vs. KCCA FC
  • Date: Saturday, 25th April 2026
  • Venue: Midigo Primary School Grounds, Yumbe
  • Kick-off: 4:00 PM EAT

The stage is set in Yumbe, West Nile region, as the StarTimes Uganda Premier League enters its business end.

It will be a classic “Top vs. Bottom” clash as second-placed KCCA FC travels to face relegation-threatened Calvary FC at the Midigo Primary School Grounds.

While the table suggests a mismatch, the atmosphere in Yumbe is anything but predictable.

Sitting on 51 points, KCCA FC arrive in Yumbe with their eyes firmly on closing the gap at the top, and this will require the Kasasiro Boys to win.

The Cityzens’ recent form has been promising, marked by a gritty 1-0 win over Kitara FC and a clinical 1-0 away victory against Entebbe UPPC just days ago.

Calvary FC, on the other hand, is fighting for its top-flight life.

Anchored at the bottom of the table, 16th position with only 10 points, they are fighting for survival.

Hosts Calvary will aim to leverage their home advantage to frustrate another title contender. They carry significant momentum into this fixture after holding Kitara FC to a 0-0 draw in Hoima on Wednesday.

When these two sides, KCCA and Calvary, met earlier this season at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo in October 2025, KCCA were 4-2 winners, dominating from the first whistle.

Calvary struggled with the pace of the turf in Kampala, but Saturday’s grass pitch at Midigo offers a much different challenge for the visitors.

A win for KCCA FC cuts the gap between the Cityzens and the table leaders to one point, as the latter will be playing later on Sunday.

Calvary FC has not conceded a goal in the last three league matches. They have had two goalless draws and a win, collecting five points from a possible nine.

KCCA FC co-head coaches Brian Ssenyondo and Jackson Magera Kaddu

KCCA FC’s co-head coach, Jackson Kaddu Magera, emphasized focus ahead of the fixture.

We know the table says they are at the bottom, but football is not played on paper. Calvary just took a point from Kitara, and we know how difficult Midigo can be with their fans. Our mission is to go there, do the right things, play well, be clinical, and collect as many points as we can if we are to keep the pressure on at the top.
