Vipers SC 1-0 KCCA FC
St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Friday, November, 7th, 2025 – 8pm EAT
KCCA FC suffered their first defeat of the season after falling to a narrow 1-0 loss against Vipers SC in a highly anticipated clash.
The decisive goal came midway through the first half from Allan Okello, securing all three points for the hosts and bringing KCCA’s unbeaten run to a halt.
The game started with high energy, and KCCA showed early intent. In the 10th minute, quick interplay between Gavin and Sammy Ssebaduka saw the former deliver a dangerous cross, but Vipers’ goalkeeper was sharp enough to collect the ball and avert the threat.
The midfield battle intensified, leading to the first caution of the afternoon in the 26th minute when KCCA’s Joel Sserunjogi was booked for a foul on Karim Watambala.
Moments later, KCCA defender Herbert Achayi made a crucial intervention with a timely clearance to deny Vipers’ Usama a clear sight of goal just in front of the goal mouth.
However, Vipers capitalized on their opportunities. Allan Okello scored the game-winning goal in the 32nd minute, giving Vipers the lead. The half continued its feisty nature, and Vipers’ Marvin Youngman was cautioned for a foul on Ivan Ahimbisibwe in the 36th minute.
KCCA’s coach Jackson Magera immediately reacted, making an early tactical substitution in the 38th minute, bringing on Ashraf Mugume to replace Umar Lutalo.
The score was 1-0 at halftime, with the hosts leading.

KCCA emerged from the break with renewed urgency and made a double change, introducing Anyama Emmanuel and Alex Yiga for Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Saidi Mayanja in a bid to inject more attacking threat in the tie.
The changes shifted the momentum, with KCCA dominating possession and relentlessly pushing for the equalizer throughout the second period. The pressure peaked in the final minutes. In the 80th minute, KCCA felt they had a chance when Achai teed up Kwikiriza, only for the attacker to be fouled by Taddeo Lwanga, leading to a late KCCA free-kick opportunity that was saved by Mudekereza.
The substitutions started to pay dividends late on. In the 85th minute, Herbert Achayi beat his marker and delivered an excellent cross into the box, but Anyama Emmanuel’s resulting header was well saved by Vipers’ custodian, Mudekereza.
Late on, Vipers’ Enock Ssebagala received a caution for a foul on Sammy Ssebaduka.
Despite sustained late pressure, the KCCA lads could not find the crucial leveler. The match ended 1-0 to Vipers.
The loss marks KCCA FC’s first defeat of the campaign. The Cityzens now turn their focus to the upcoming league encounter against URA FC on November 21st, after the FIFA International Window.
