KCCA FC’s Duo Achayi and Kwikiriza Earn Cranes Call-Up for Morocco Friendlies

KCCA FC’s forward Shafik Kwikiriza and versatile full-back Herbert Achayi have been summoned to the Uganda Cranes squad ahead of the upcoming FIFA International Window.

The duo was included in the 28-man squad announced today by the national team management during a press conference held at Kadiba.

Both players are set to join the Cranes camp after the league match against Vipers SC on Friday, 7th November, as they prepare for two high-profile international friendly matches against North African giants, Morocco.

Herbert Achayi spoke to this website and said,

I am always honored to wear the national team jersey. It’s a huge motivation, and my focus is on helping the team achieve its goals in these important friendly matches.

The two crucial preparatory matches will take place on Saturday, November 15th, against Chad in Casablanca, and Wednesday, November 19th, 2025, against Morocco in Tanger, offering Kwikiriza and Achayi a prime opportunity to represent their nation and showcase their talent on the global stage.

Both friendly matches will take place in Morocco.

Shafik Kwikiriza spoke to the club website and said,

I am grateful for the opportunity to represent my country. I want to learn from the experienced players and give my absolute best for the national team.

Their selection comes immediately after their pivotal contributions in KCCA FC’s thrilling 4-2 league victory against Calvary FC.

Achayi and Kwikiriza both got on the scoresheet, sealing the win in style.

Kwikiriza netted the team’s third goal, while Achayi rounded off the scoring with the decisive fourth.
