Timeline
Club Founded
The club was established in 1963 by Samuel Wamala, who headed the Council's Sewage Works section. It began with casual workers from that department and expanded across all Kampala City Council departments.
Early Development (1965–1971)
Joined the Kampala and District Football League Third Division in 1965. Achieved second-place promotion in 1966, competed in Division One by 1968, then faced relegation in 1971.
National League Era (1974–1979)
Gained promotion to the National League by 1974, finishing second in consecutive seasons before winning their first championship in 1976 (one point ahead of Express FC). Won again in 1977. Finished second in 1978 but captured the CECAFA Clubs Cup — Uganda's first regional club championship title, presented by President Idi Amin to captain Sam Musenze.
International Competition
Quarter-final appearances in the African Cup of Champions Clubs (1978, 1982). Multiple CAF competitions including Champions League (1998, 2009), CAF Cup (1995, 1997, 2001, 2002), Confederation Cup (2005, 2009), and Cup Winners' Cup (seven appearances: 1980, 1981, 1983, 1985, 1988, 1991, 1994).
Golden Era (1980s)
Won the Uganda Cup in 1980, 1982, 1984, and 1987. Claimed league championships in 1981, 1983, and 1985. Notable scorers included Davis Kamoga (21 goals in 1980) and Frank Kyazze (18 goals in 1984, 28 in 1985).
Modern Period
Super League titles in 1991 and 1997. Uganda Cup wins in 1990, 1993, 2004. League championship in 2007–08 (featuring striker Brian Umony with 15 goals) and 2012–13.
