The Cityzens, fresh off a gritty victory against Kitara FC, now travel to the lakeside to face Entebbe UPPC on Matchday 24 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League

With only seven matches to play in the league, KCCA FC arrives in Entebbe brimming with confidence after Joel Sserunjogi’s thunderbolt secured a 1-0 win over Kitara in the previous league fixture.

That victory moved the Cityzens to 48 points, keeping the pressure on the league leaders. However, the memory of their last meeting with Entebbe UPPC still stings.

Back in January, the Printery boys pulled off a 1-0 victory at Lugogo.

Now, as the return leg approaches, the stakes have shifted. KCCA FC will know that at this stage of the season, there is no room for error.

For the Cityzens, it’s about collecting points and gaining momentum ahead of the final bend of the season, whereas for hosts Entebbe UPPC, it’s about proving that their first-round win was no fluke.

The reverse fixture showed Entebbe’s defensive discipline, a wall that KCCA will need to break if they are to avoid another frustrating afternoon.

This fixture serves as a crossroad for former teammates

Former KCCA FC head coach and player Abdallah Mubiru now leads UPPC. Alongside him is Livingstone Mbabazi, a KCCA great and current assistant at UPPC.

Among the hosts’ players will be Julius Poloto, a player who bled yellow and blue for over a decade and captained the club. He is joined by Mustafa Mujuzi, Isa Mubiru, and Steven Munguchi, all of whom once called Lugogo home.

The KCCA FC faithful will be hoping Saidi Mayanja and Ivan Ahimbisibwe rediscover their recent clinical edge in front of goal.

KCCA FC co-head coaches (L-R) Jackson Magera and Brian Ssenyondo.

Co-head coaches Brian Ssenyondo and Jackson Magera have steered the club into this strong late season position and are under no illusions about the difficulty of the task.

Speaking after the final training session at Lugogo, Magera emphasised the need for mental sharpness.

We are okay, we are ready. We must stay focused in every moment, whether we have the ball or not. Our transitions have to be effective, and we must be clinical when the chances come if we are to pick a positive result in Entebbe.
