KCCA FC returned to winning ways in emphatic style on Tuesday, disarming UPDF FC 4-0 at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

A brace from Sammy Ssebaduka, a converted penalty from Joel Sserunjogi, and a maiden goal for Alpha Thierry Ssali headlined a dominant performance that reignited the Cityzens spark.

The hosts started with high intensity, and it didn’t take long for the pressure to pay off. In the 12th minute, Sammy Ssebaduka opened the scoring, finishing clinically after a pinpoint cross from Herbert Achayi down the left flank.

The dominance continued as the first half progressed. In the 28th minute, the referee pointed to the penalty spot after Edward Satulo was judged to have brought down Shafik Kwikiriza in the box.

Joel Sserunjogi stepped up with composure, converting from 12 yards to double the lead before the break.

KCCA showed no signs of slowing down after the restart. Just six minutes into the second half, Ssebaduka bagged his second of the evening. After being fed by Shafik Kwikiriza, the forward danced past his marker and slotted the ball home to make it 3-0.

Managerial tactical shifts followed, with Alex Yiga and Sharifu Ssengendo entering the fray for Rogers Mugisha and Bright Jjara.

Further substitutions in the 75th minute saw the introduction of Alpha Ssali, James Mubezi, and Umar Lutalo for Shafik Kwikiriza, Herbert Achayi, and Sammy Ssebaduka as KCCA looked to see out the game.

The icing on the cake came late in the match. Substitute Alpha Thierry Ssali netted his maiden goal for the club, tapping home from close range following an assist from Ahimbisibwe to make it 4-0.

Despite a late flurry of yellow cards for Alex Yiga (KCCA), Enrique Lubwama (UPDF), and Steven Kawuka (UPDF), the result was never in doubt.
