KCCA FC cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory against Lugazi FC at the Lugazi FC Stadium, showcasing clinical finishing and tactical superiority to overcome a resilient home
The Kasasiro Boys wasted little time asserting their dominance. Saidi Mayanja opened the scoring in the 19th minute, capitalising on early pressure to give the visitors the lead.
Lugazi FC attempted to play a physical game to disrupt KCCA’s rhythm, which resulted in yellow cards for Hamza Mulambuzi (25th minute) and Freedom Mungudit (37th minute) for dangerous play. Despite their “stubborn” defensive efforts, Lugazi struggled to create significant chances before the break.
KCCA doubled their lead in the 57th minute when the provider turned scorer; Mayanja turned architect, delivering a precise assist for Ivan Ahimbisibwe to find the back of the net.
Just four minutes later, the pressure became too much for the Lugazi defense. An unfortunate own goal by Ayiko Richard in the 61st minute effectively sealed the three points for the visitors, making it 3-0.
Both managers looked to their benches as the game entered its final third:
Lazaro Muhindo replaced Sammy Ssebaduka (62′), while goal-hero Saidi Mayanja made way for Umar Lutalo (70′).
Mutwalibi Mugolofa makes a save against Lugazi FC
A double switch in the 80th minute saw Etienne Katenga and Kennedy Muserero replace Gavin Kizito and Ivan Ahimbisibwe.
In the 66th minute, the Lugazi FC technical team made a triple substitution, introducing Alvin Twiine Birungi, Fahad Jumbe, and Peter Chut to replace Juma Ssajjabi, Moses Buga, and Edrine Owachgiu in an attempt to find a consolation goal.
The closing stages were relatively quiet, though KCCA’s Joel Sserunjogi received a caution in the 83rd minute as the visitors looked to maintain their clean sheet.
3-0 the final score. KCCA FC cruising to victory against a stubborn Lugazi FC.
