In the second stanza, KCCA opted for fresh legs after the interval, introducing Kennedy Muserero for Shafik Kwikiriza.
Muserero nearly made an immediate impact in the 74th minute, firing a free-kick goalward after a foul on Mayanja, but Police keeper Mathias Muwanga was equal to the task.
As the clock wound down, the intensity remained high. In the 78th minute, Police’s James Obedi was cautioned for a foul on the lively Saidi Mayanja.
KCCA made a triple substitution to see out the game, bringing on Rogers Mugisha, Umar Lutalo, and Sharifu Ssengendo for Lazaro Muhindo, Saidi Mayanja, and Ivan Ahimbisibwe, respectively.
Despite late pressure from Police FC, KCCA held firm to secure all three points.
