KCCA FC endured a frustrating outing on Tuesday afternoon, falling to a 2-0 defeat against Police FC at the Kira Road Police Arena. Despite second half tactical adjustments and a flurry of substitutions, the Cityzens were unable to find a breakthrough against a disciplined Cops side.

The first half was a tightly contested affair with both sides sizing each other up, but the deadlock was broken shortly after the restart.

In the 51st minute, the hosts took the lead through Brian James Obedi, who capitalized on a well-placed assist from Denis Kalanzi to slot the ball home.

Seeking an immediate response, the KCCA technical bench opted for a bold triple substitution in an attempt to inject fresh energy into the midfield and attack. Shafik Nana Kwikiriza, Ashraf Mugume, and Ivan Ahimbisibwe were introduced for Rogers Mugisha, Saidi Mayanja, and Hassan Muhammud.

However, the momentum remained with the hosts. In the 64th minute, Police doubled their advantage. Bedia Djuma Ikamba found the back of the net following a setup by Lawrence Tezikya, leaving the Cityzens with a mountain to climb.

As the clock ticked down, KCCA made their final throw of the dice in the 86th minute, bringing on Alpha Ssali and Alex Yiga for Joel Sserunjogi and Derrick Nsibambi.

While the Cityzens pushed forward, the match grew increasingly physical. The referee, Lucky Kasalirwe, was kept busy in the closing stages, cautioning three Police FC players, Richard Matovu (83′), Brian James Obedi (90′), and Stephen Namaisi (90+5′), as they fought to preserve their clean sheet.

Despite the late pressure, the scoreline remained unchanged at the final whistle.
