Two KCCA FC teenagers have made the final U18 National Team squad.
Abubaker Mayanja and Alex Yiga all made the final squad.
The pair were promoted from the KCCA FC academy to the KCCA FC senior side in July 2023.
Forward, Abu has already scored three goals for KCCA FC, having scored a brace against Wakiso Giants FC in the FUFA Super 8 and an away goal against Libya’s Abu Salim SC in CAF Confederation Cup.
Yiga spent the previous three months on football trials in Scotland and has since returned to join the KCCA FC senior team.
The U18 national team traveled to Kenya for the upcoming CECAFA U18 Boys Championship, scheduled to take place from November 25th to December 8th, 2023.
The teenagers played three friendly games against Uganda Premier League sides, BUL FC, and twice against Gaddafi FC.
The team is under the stewardship of former KCCA FC Head Coach Morley Byekwaso.
The final squad is made up of 23 players, some of which are playing for clubs in the Uganda Premier League.
Uganda is pitted in what many have termed as “Group of Death” with Zanzibar, Tanzania and South Sudan all in there.
