On Monday morning, July 28th, 2025, a familiar buzz filled the air around the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo. It was the first day of pre-season for KCCA FC, and with it came a fresh wave of anticipation, largely thanks to the new co-coaching duo at the helm, Jackson Magera and Brian Ssenyondo.

The sun, still low in the sky, players began to arrive as early as 7 am. There was an undeniable energy, a feeling of a new chapter starting, met with a mix of hope and curiosity.

The administration and technical team exchanged warm greetings with the returning players before they were briefed on what the day’s detailed plan and the entire pre-season program looked like.

The first session began with a light warm up, which was led by the fitness and conditioning coach Felix Ayobo while the rest of the technical team closely observed, occasionally stepping in to offer technical corrections or words of encouragement to the players. The coaches later intensified drills, introducing new variations to familiar exercises.

As the training intensified, the competitive spirit was evident as players pushed themselves under the watchful eyes of the technical team.

Co-Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo clearly communicated his message to the players.

The hard work starts now. We have a legacy to uphold, and with your sacrifice, hard work, and dedication, we will restore KCCA to its rightful place. We will do this together.

As the players dispersed after day one of pre season, it was quite evident that this was not just about fitness drills but rekindling a flame and embarking on a journey to reclaim KCCA FC’s dominance.

The 2025/2026 pre-season is expected to run from the 28th of July until the start of the Uganda Premier League, which is scheduled for late September 2025.

Several practice matches are lined up during this period, and further details will be communicated by the club as and when they are ready to be shared with its stakeholders.
