
Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) were crowned champions of the 2017 Uganda Cup after defeating Paidha Black Angels on Thursday.
The triumph meant KCCA FC broke the long standing jinx of not winning a domestic double that had eluded the club since inception.
A goal in either half from the prolific duo of Geoffrey Serunkuuma and Derrick Nsibambi ensured KCCA FC won the 9th Uganda Cup title.
Besides the trophy, KCCA FC also got several individual awards for the players and the coach.
Team manager Mike Hillary Mutebi was named coach of the tournament after helping KCCA FC win the first Uganda Cup title in 13 years.
KCCA FC ended the tournament unbeaten in 7 games, scoring 23 goals whilst conceding just 5 goals.
Derrick Nsibambi finished the tournament as the top scorer with eight goals in 7 games.

Youngster Lawrence Bukenya who had a man of the match performance in the final was named the Most Valuable Player(MVP) of the tournament.

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director, Jennifer Semakula Musisi was awarded with FUFA Presidential award for her contribution towards developing KCCA FC into a model team.
