Despite a 2-1 defeat to SC Villa in the FUFA Super 8 first-leg quarterfinal on Wednesday at the MTN Omondi Stadium, KCCA FC demonstrated several positive signs that bode well for the upcoming season.

Playing in their first competitive fixture under the new technical leadership of Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo, the Kasasiro Boys showcased moments of tactical discipline and creative attacking play. The match, which served as a crucial pre-season test, saw the team respond well to pressure and adapt to new systems.

SC Villa’s goals came from Hassan Mubiru in the 35th minute and a late strike from substitute Andrew Otim in the 82nd minute.

However, KCCA’s fighting spirit was on full display, with right-wing back Sammy Ssebaduka pulling one back in the dying minutes of the game to give the team a crucial goal and a glimmer of hope for the return leg.

The game highlighted several positives for KCCA FC. The new players Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Lazaro Muhindo, integrated well into the squad, and their presence added a fresh dynamic to the team’s attack.
