KCCA FC kicks off its 2025/26 StarTimes Uganda Premier League campaign with a highly anticipated trip to Hoima to face Kitara FC. This Match Day One encounter at the Royals Park Stadium, Butema, Hoima, marks the beginning of the league’s new format and is set to be a true test of our early season title credentials.
This season introduces a thrilling, multi-phase league format, meaning every point in this first round is critical.
The Cityzens made the long journey to Hoima on Thursday, a day before match day, and the atmosphere of a packed Royals Park will immediately put our squad’s mentality to the test.
The Royals enjoyed a fair campaign last season and will be motivated to start the new format on a high, especially in front of their home fans in Butema.
Adding intrigue to the fixture is the fact that KCCA FC co-head coach Brian Ssenyondo faces his former side, Kitara FC. His understanding of their setup and some of the players could be a crucial factor in the technical duel against Kitara’s Head Coach, George Lutalo, and his counterpart, Wasswa Bosa.

The Kasasiro Boys kick off the new season with renewed optimism and a blend of experience and fresh talent. Goalkeeper Charles Lukwago, returning to the club and taking on the captaincy, leads a reinforced squad. His leadership, alongside deputies Fillbert Obenchan, Herbert Achayi and Derrick Nsibambi will be vital in controlling the game.
We have reinforced our technical team and squad with new acquisitions, aiming to propel the club back to the summit of Ugandan football. This first match is the first step in our mission to reclaim the championship glory. Jackson Magera Kaddu
