Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) suffered yet another slump in the title race with a 2-1 loss at the hands of Vipers in a match played at the Philip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Tuesday.

Despite taking the lead through prolific striker Geoffrey Serunkuuma on 16 minutes, the visitors put up a fight in the second half to eventually score two goals and hand KCCA FC the first loss at home this season.

Serunkuuma took his goal tally to 18 this season converting a penalty at the quarter hour mark to give KCCA FC an early lead.

Vipers defender Nicholas Wadada handled the ball inside the area and Serunkuuma made no mistake, sending goalkeeper Ismail Watenga the wrong way to give KCCA FC the lead.

Isaac Muleme was unlucky not to score and double the lead for KCCA FC after recess with his ferocious effort just outside the box ricocheting off the crossbar.

The visitors levelled matters in the 64th minute through former KCCA FC forward Tony Odur after Timothy Awany lost possession and the lanky striker fired past goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan.

Another lapse in the defence five minutes later cost the home side with Vipers defender Geoffrey Wasswa scoring the second goal.

There was an injury blow for KCCA FC with midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba getting stretched off after sustaining a shoulder injury and was replaced by Ivan Ntege.
