Playing at this stage for the first time in our history, Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) was placed in Pool A of 2017 Total CAF Confederation Cup group stages.

KCCA is drawn alongside Moroccan side FUS Rabat, River United from Nigeria and Club Africane of Tunisia.

The Ugandan league champions will need to finish in the top teams if they are to qualify for the quarter finals.

The journey to this stage started in the 2017 Total CAF Champions League where KCCA FC knocked out CD Premeiro de Agosto on away goals rule after both teams were tied 2-2 on aggregate.

The result booked KCCA FC a date with champions Mamelodi Sundowns and unfortunately were knocked out 3-2 on aggregate.

That pushed the 11 time Ugandan Champions to the Confederation Cup where they defeated Egyptian side Al Masry 4-3 on penalties after the aggregate was tied at 1-1.

KCCA FC will play their first match against FUS Rabat on the weekend of May 12-14 in Morocco.
