  • Venue: MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo
  • Kick-off: 8:00 PM EAT
  • Competition: StarTimes Uganda Premier League

Friday night under the lights at the MTN Omondi Stadium features a cracker as KCCA FC hosts Police FC in match 19 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Both teams enter this fixture with high stakes. KCCA is determined to narrow the gap with league leaders, while Police FC hopes to recover from a recent setback and regain its position as a top-four contender.

KCCA FC, under the guidance of co-coaches Jackson Magera and Brian Ssenyondo, has found a rhythm lately, most recently securing a 2-0 away win against Buhimba United Saints.

KCCA’s charge for top honours will be tested by a Police FC side that has proven they can be a thorn in the side of the giants, having already defeated KCCA 2-0 in the reverse fixture back in January.

KCCA FC is currently 3rd on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League with 36 points, while Police FC is 6th on the table with 32 points from 18 matches.

Jackson Magera

Speaking ahead of the clash, KCCA co-coach Jackson Magera emphasised the need for mental fortitude:

The players need to know the level and weight of the club they are playing for and play with more responsibility. We have got to fight for this badge in each match we play to ensure we return this club to where it belongs at the top of the table.

A high intensity game is expected under the lights. KCCA’s home advantage and recent 2-0 away win over Buhimba give them the edge, but Police FC’s attacking potency, averaging 1.6 goals per match, means they are always a threat on their day.
