The 52nd edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup reaches a fever pitch this Saturday as two giants, KCCA FC and URA FC, face off at the Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
With a spot in the semi-finals and a path to the CAF Confederation Cup on the line, this Tax Collectors vs Kasasiro Boys clash is the pick of the quarter-final fixtures.
Both sides have navigated tricky waters to reach the last eight of Uganda’s most prestigious knockout football competition.
KCCA FC, the record joint winners of the Cup with 10 titles, have been callous in their pursuit of an 11th trophy. The Cityzens’ journey featured a dominant performance in the Round of 16, where they convincingly obliterated Onduparaka FC with a 5-0 victory. Their clinical finishing and defensive solidity have kept them going in this year’s edition.
URA FC earned their spot after a 3-0 home win over Tapoh in the Round of 16. While their league form has seen some fluctuations, the Tax Collectors have historically treated the Uganda Cup with immense respect, looking to add to their three previous titles and hoping to clinch the cup they last won in 2014.
Both KCCA FC and URA FC are yet to concede a goal in normal time in this year’s Uganda Cup.
KCCA FC has scored 8 goals in three games in this year’s Uganda Cup, while hosts URA FC have scored 4 goals.
KCCA FC’s forward Emmanuel Anyama tops the club’s scorers’ chart in the cup with three goals, while another forward, Ivan Ahimbisibwe, tops the assists charts with two assists. However, the former has 4 G/A involvements in the cup this term.
KCCA FC goalkeeper Mutwalibi Mugolofa has played 270 minutes in this year’s competition and is yet to concede a goal.

KCCA FC Head Coach Jackson Magera is aware of the threat posed by URA but remains confident in his squad’s momentum.
URA is very disciplined and can be tough to play, especially in a knockout setting like the Uganda Cup. We respect them, but our mentality right now is about fighting for the badge every single minute. The boys have shown great spirit in the previous rounds, and we are going to Nakivubo with one goal to try and secure our place in the semis.
