Derrick Nsibambi has played an integral role throughout the season, firing across all cylinders and scoring quite a number of crucial goals.

And it was not any different on Tuesday evening as the sensational forward came off the bench to score the lone goal as Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) defeated JMC Hippos to edge closer to the league title.

Nsibambi, who also scored the winner as KCCA eliminated Police on Sunday to reach the semifinals of Uganda Cup, was happy about his scoring form and helping the team win games.

“I’m happy about my form but most importantly that we are getting good results as a team. We know the targets ahead of us, so we work hard to make sure we attain them,” the young striker told KCCAFC Media.

“It is not all about scoring goals but making sure we play as a unit, have team chemistry and get positive results at the end of the day,” Nsibambi added.

Nsibambi came off the bench as a second half substitute against JMC Hippos, replacing Noel Nasasira to tap home from close range in the 68th minute in what would be the only goal of the game.

The strike meant KCCA edged closer to retaining the league title, moving to 54 points, five above second placed SC Villa with four games left to end the season.

It was also Nsibambi’s 14th goal of the season in all competitions with seven coming in the Uganda Cup, where he is the top scorer, six in the league and one in the Total CAF Confederation Cup.
