A buzz of renewed purpose filled the MTN Omondi Stadium as Club Patron, the Lord Mayor for Kampala H/W Ssalongo Erias Lukwago, and KCCA’s Deputy Executive Director Benon Moses Kigenyi, together with the Club Board members, joined the KCCA FC staff for the official 2025/26 season opener briefing.
The event commenced with a guided tour of the stadium’s new primary stand, a massive construction project nearing the end of its second phase. The phase two construction is expected to reach completion by the end of October 2025.

With the stadium tour complete, the leaders and club staff convened for a briefing.
While addressing the club staff, the Patron and Lord Mayor H/W Ssalongo Erias Lukwago said.
This club is more than just a team. This should be exhibited in everything we do, in how we carry ourselves and how we play. We pledge our support for you, and I believe we can write a new chapter of success this season. Believe in yourselves, in this team, and in the possibility of achieving great things together.

Benon Moses Kigenyi, the Deputy Director of KCCA, represented the Executive Director and delivered a message of tangible support.
To show our firm commitment to the club’s future, I am proud to announce that a new bus will be provided to the team this season. I also want to share sincere thanks to all the players who represented the club with the Uganda Cranes at CHAN 2024. You made us proud, and the sky’s the limit, but stay grounded, your success depends on it.

Club Chairman Sserunjogi Andrew Mukiibi expressed his sincere thanks to the KCCA leadership.
On behalf of the board and the entire club, I want to extend our gratitude to the Lord Mayor and Executive Director for their support for KCCA FC. As the Board, we are committed to seeing this stadium construction project through. I will personally be pushing the contractor to finish the second phase works so that the primary stand can be occupied as soon as possible, giving our fans the home they deserve

The event also had a formal presentation of the Club Captains for 2025/26 by CEO Anisha Shahir Muhoozi. She used the opportunity to introduce the club’s new player leadership to the Board, presenting the four captains who will lead the team in the upcoming season.

Charles Lukwago was officially announced as the club captain, with Fillbert Obenchan, Herbert Achai, and Derrick Nsibambi named as his deputies, respectively
The season opener briefing concluded with the official launch of the home and away jersey for the 2025/26 season by the Club Patron and Lord Mayor for Kampala H/W Ssalongo Erias Lukwago and the Deputy Executive Director for KCCA, Benon Moses Kigenyi.
NOTE: The 2025/26 jerseys will go on sale starting 1st October 2025
