KCCA FC 4-2 Calvary FC
MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Friday, October, 31st, 2025 – 8pm EAT
KCCA FC secured a commanding 4-2 victory over league newcomers Calvary FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, a result that pushed the Cityzens to the summit of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table.
The high-scoring contest saw KCCA establish dominance early, weathering a late rally from the visitors to claim all three points.
The home side wasted no time asserting its authority. In the 10th minute, KCCA drew first blood when Ivan Ahimbisibwe netted a sweet finish after being expertly put through by Lutalo.

Just four minutes later, the roles reversed as Lutalo turned goal scorer, pouncing on a rebound from a Shafik Kwikiriza effort to double KCCA’s advantage.
The pace relented slightly before KCCA hammered home their dominance just before the break.
Two minutes from halftime, Joel Sserunjogi, who was constantly pulling the strings, rattled the woodwork with a powerful shot, and Shafik Kwikiriza was quick to react, slotting home the rebound from close quarters to give KCCA a comfortable 3-0 lead heading into the dressing room.
Following the interval, KCCA FC’s coach Magera made changes, bringing on Alex Yiga and Haruna Lukwago in place of Sammy Ssebaduka and Enock Walusimbi to try and firm the flow of goals and find a foothold in the match.

The changes seemed to spark the visitors, and they soon pulled one back through Lawrence Olaboro.
However, KCCA quickly restored its three-goal cushion. After Alex Yiga, who had been newly introduced, took a well-taken corner kick that was glanced towards Herbert Achayi, the KCCA defender nodded home the fourth goal in the 63rd minute.
The latter stages saw both teams utilize their benches, with Emmanuel Anyama and Sharifu Ssengendo getting introduced for KCCA, replacing Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Umar Lualo.
Despite the huge lead for the hosts, Calvary continued to press, and Stephen Oriokot managed to claw back a second goal for the visitors, halving the deficit to 4-2 in the 71st minute.
Calvary’s John Rogers and Marvin Wambuga received cautions for fouls on Herbert Achayi and Saidi Mayanja, respectively.
The final whistle confirmed the 4-2 scoreline in favor of KCCA FC.

Midfielder Joel Sserunjogi, whose attacking influence led directly to the third goal, was rightfully named the Player of the Match.
The win was crucial for KCCA FC, moving them to the top of the table with 11 points from five matches.
Meanwhile, Calvary FC continues their difficult start to life in the Premier League, remaining near the bottom as they search for their inaugural league victory.
